Promote Physical Wellbeing in your Workplace
According to the Australian Government, on average, office workers sit for 76 per cent of the day and that there is considerable amount of evidence that suggests that prolonged sitting increases the risk of cancer, cardiovascular disease and death. Even short regular breaks from sitting is beneficial to your health.
A review of stretching programs in workplaces found that stretching improved range of motion, posture, and provided stress relief. Another study also suggests that periodic workplace stretching may reduce pain by up to 72 percent. And some studies show that even a bit of exercise and regular breaks from sitting during in the workday can be beneficial in relieving both physical and mental stress.
