It's probably one of the toughest stains, so don't delay, tackle it straightaway! Here's everything you need to know about red wine stain removal...
Don't Cry Over Spilt Wine This Christmas
Wine stains happen to the best of us. That’s just the risk we take as red wine drinkers. Eventually, in the midst of a good time, a little wine (or a lot depending on what you knock over) is going to spill and we’re going to have to clean it up. I know this seems like a nightmare, you are already mourning the fact you wasted wine and now you have to tackle cleaning the deep scarlet red wine stain.
It's probably one of the toughest stains, so don't delay, tackle it straightaway!
It can be surprisingly easy if you follow this method immediately after your red wine spills. Here's everything you need to know...
Method:
- Act as soon as possible. Keep the wine stain moist with white wine, soda water or regular tap water, ensuring the liquid is cool (warm or hot liquid will set the stain further).
- Blot the stain with a cloth, cover it generously with regular table salt and leave the salt to absorb the wine.
- Brush the salt off, soak the stain with more water and blot with a cloth. Apply Persil Liquid Detergent directly to the wine stain (ensuring that you follow the instructions on the pack) and work it into the stain gently. You can use an old, clean, soft-bristled toothbrush.
- Wash as usual in the washing machine and breathe a sigh of relief – learning how to get rid of wine stains isn’t that difficult after all!
We hope this tip can help save you some tears this "silly season".
