Celebrating NAIDOC Week

Celebrating NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC Week, held from Sunday, July 7th to Sunday, July 14th, 2024, is a time for all Australians to celebrate and acknowledge the rich history, culture, and ongoing achievements of our First Nations peoples. This year's theme, "Keep the Fire Burning!", calls for all of us to continue the fight for social justice, equality, and a brighter future for Indigenous Australians.

At IWS (Indigenous Work Place Services), we share this commitment. We believe that creating a truly inclusive workforce starts with empowering Indigenous Australians to reach their full potential.

Bridging the Gap, Building Opportunities

Indigenous Australians face significant barriers to employment. It's our mission to bridge this gap by offering a range of services to both employers and job seekers:

  • For Employers: We help you develop inclusive recruitment strategies. This means removing unconscious bias, creating welcoming workplaces, and attracting talented Indigenous candidates. Additionally, we assist you in building your cultural competence, ensuring your workplace fosters mutual respect and understanding.
  • For Job Seekers: IWS connects you with opportunities aligned with your skills and aspirations. We offer guidance and support throughout your job search journey.

Together, We Can Make a Difference

NAIDOC Week offers a chance to celebrate Indigenous excellence and reflect on the importance of reconciliation. Here are ways you can participate:

  • Visit the NAIDOC Week website: https://www.naidoc.org.au/ to learn more about the theme, access resources, and find events happening in your area.
  • Support Indigenous Businesses: Show your appreciation for Indigenous culture by shopping at Indigenous-owned businesses and organizations.

IWS is here to partner with you. Whether you're an employer seeking to diversify your workforce or an Indigenous job seeker looking for the right opportunity, we can help. Let's work together to "Keep the Fire Burning" and create a future where Indigenous Australians thrive in the workplace.
